15-Year Anniversary

Today, 15 years ago, Rob and I got married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim...my home church. It actually snow flurried that day! To celebrate our anniversary, we took a much needed weekend trip to Tan-Tar-A at Lake of the Ozarks this past weekend. We had such a nice time...I can't remember the last time that we went overnight anywhere without the kids. We got there pretty late Friday evening and ate at the Black Bear Lodge Restaurant there at Tan-Tar-A and then watched a movie (of our choice...not the boys' choice!) in our room. Saturday morning after breakfast (we had the most amazing omelets at breakfast each morning!) we spent a little time down by the lake, just enjoying the scenery. We then headed to the outlet mall and spent a few hours there...and, yes, Rob did enjoy it. He actually got in to the shopping a little bit. Especially at the Crocs outlet...he had a blast picking out several Jibbitz for the boys' Crocs! Found several bargains at the Nike outlet and then had pretzel sticks from Auntie Anne's...yummy! We skipped lunched, since we had the pretzels (and also a late breakfast), and headed back to our room and watched another movie since the weather had kind of turned bad. But, by the time the movie was over, the sun was shining. We then headed out to dinner at J.Bruners...amazingingly great dinner and the atmosphere was lovely. Quite pricey...but, hey...it was our anniversary! Sunday morning we had a late breakfast and then headed back to the Nike outlet to pick up something that I wanted that I didn't buy the day before. We then had a nice drive back to St. Louis. One other highlight was that Rob treated me to a full body wrap in the spa at Tan-Tar-A! It was so relaxing for me...I think my skin still feels soft! It was truly an enjoyable weekend for us...we've promised to do it more often...at least once a year anyway!

A HUGE THANK YOU to my brother & sister-in-law, Paul & Kristi, for keeping our boys in St. Louis with them for the weekend! They had such a great time...Friday evening Paul took the boys to the park, they watched some videos, played games. Saturday they took the train downtown to the stadium and had a picnic lunch and then toured the stadium (with the Cub Scouts)...they then walked down to the Arch. Sunday was church and then we picked them up around 1:30. The boys had so much fun...I hope they didn't wear Paul & Kristi out! We really, really appreciate them taking care of them!
